A 42-year-old NWT Power Corporation worker was found dead at the Bluefish Hydro site on Wednesday.

Michael Dunn was a lifelong Yellowknifer who was found inside the staff trailer located at the hydro dam site at Bluefish Lake, confirmed Michael's brother Kevin Dunn, who said he was informed of his brother's death at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

"There is nothing to suggest the death was suspicious or work-related," stated power corp. chair Brendan Bell in an e-mail response Thursday.

Dunn had joined the Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) about two-and-a-half years ago and worked as a hydro plant operator at Bluefish Hydro, stated Bell.

"He was a valuable employee and liked by all who knew him. He will be missed."

Yellowknife RCMP officers were at Bluefish on Wednesday because it was an unexplained death, said Staff Sgt. Brad Kaeding. They have since concluded the death is not suspicious and that Dunn died of medical causes.

Police have now turned their investigation over to the NWT coroner's office and all parties involved are waiting on the results of an autopsy to determine what caused Dunn's death.

Power corp. is conducting its own investigation into the incident.
