Dettah ice road to close
The ice road between Yellowknife and Dettah closed to small vehicles on Monday morning, and the Department of Transportation expects the crossing to close to all traffic today.
Originally, the road was expected to close completely on Monday, but cold temperatures and ice conditions at the Yellowknife and Dettah landings kept it open, said department spokesperson Earl Blacklock.
If conditions remain stable, the Dettah winter road could remain open longer, said Blacklock.
