Fifteen teams, totalling 140 players, signed up for the event. Inuvik fielded 11 of those teams, stacking the deck and bettering the odds of the community winning at least one title. Fort McPherson sent two teams, as did Tuktoyaktuk.

Inuvik won in three out of four divisions. Organizer and player Lorne Guy said it was a great tournament.

"In Pool A, the East 3 Secondary School Jr. Co-ed, East 3 Elementary Girls, and East 3 Elementary Boys teams participated in a round robin of games over the weekend. Many of the games featured some fast-paced action," Guy said.

Pool A consisted of fun, non-competitive games.

Pool B featured the junior boys, junior girls, and senior girls division, with the East 3 Secondary School Junior Boys team churning through the competition in an undefeated weekend. The team took out the McPherson Ladies 18-8.

The top scorers were Keenan Wolki and Joseph Kaye.

In Pool C, the senior boys and young adults division, the East 3 Senior team fell just short of taking the title, losing a 16-14 game to the Inuvik Misfits, who were undefeated through the tournament.

The Tuk U team took the championship in the senior adults division, defeating Inuvik's Manila Thrilla, who had beaten Tuk U earlier. Tuktoyaktuk's high scorers were Gerald Stuart and Brent Wolki with 11 points each and Charlton Wolki chipped in with nine points. Manila Thrilla was paced by seven points from Kyle Lachnit.

"The team (Tuk U) has been coming to this tourney for seven years now," Guy said. "It was their first championship."
