Aboriginal Affairs minister resigns

OTTAWA
John Duncan resigned as Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development on Feb. 15, announced Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Harper named James Moore acting minister for the department until a replacement is found. Moore is also the minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

Duncan will continue to represent Vancouver Island North in the House of Commons.

Nunavut News/North was unable to reach Premier Eva Aariak for comment by press time.
