The store now occupies the retail space at the base of the NorthwesTel building, across from Javaroma.

The ground-level space has windows almost completely surrounding three sides of the store.

MacKay said it is the original location for the telecommunication company's retail outlet in Yellowknife.

"With this location, there is more traffic and we are more visible to the public," said Justine Mackay, the store manager. "It's actually where the original store used be located years ago so really we're coming home."

Alex Fleming, a retail sales associate for NorthwesTel in Whitehorse, has flown into Yellowknife to help set up the new location and work with front end sales staff.

Promotional cable packages and in-store sales are currently on to celebrate and get the word out about the new location.

While some set up is still in the works at the store, MacKay assures customers the store is ready for service.

The previous NorthwesTel retail store, located at 5120 49 Street, is closed now that the new location has opened its doors.
