Three people have been charged with attempted murder and two others with aggravated assault after a stabbing at Fort Gary apartments on Nov. 29.

RCMP officers have apprehended the last suspect, 18-year-old Tyson Ruben-Bucher, who is charged with attempted murder. Ruben-Bucher was arrested early Wednesday morning by investigators at a residence in Yellowknife. All five individuals are in custody awaiting court appearances.

"As it stands right now, all five people charged will be before the courts," said Cpl. Barry Ledoux.

Thirty-eight-year-old Nancy Ruben is charged with aggravated assault; Dean Ruben, 22, is charged with attempted murder; and two 17-year-old male youth who cannot be named are also charged, one with attempted murder and one with aggravated assault. Ledoux wouldn't comment on how the accused are related.

Police say one of the 17 year olds appeared in court Wednesday, the other yesterday.

Ruben-Bucher and Nancy Ruben are scheduled to appear in territorial court today and Dean Ruben is set to make his first court appearance to answer to the attempted murder charge on Dec. 11.

This was not a random incident and there is no concern for public safety, according to the RCMP. The investigation is ongoing and police would like community members to contact the Yellowknife RCMP or Crimestoppers if they have any information relating to this crime.
