MLAs salaries revealed Base salary equates to $90,396

NUNAVUT
Premier Eva Aariak was the highest-paid MLA over the past year, according to data released by the territorial government.
The GN recently released the salaries, indemnities, allowances and expenses members of the legislative assembly of Nunavut received up to March 31, 2012.
MLAs receive a base salary of $90,396, with additional pay for sitting on committees, sitting on cabinet, or holding the role of speaker, premier and deputy premier. The members also receive Northern living and housing allowances.
As the top three earners, Aariak received a total pay of $193,499 while Kugluktuk MLA Peter Taptuna received $191, 505 and Uqqummiut MLA James Arreak got $188,283.
Constituency budgets range from $11,700 to $57,800 depending on the riding. In most cases, MLAs spent approximately the same as compared to last year.
