Emrah Bulatci's application for leave to appeal his murder conviction was dismissed by the Supreme Court of Canada on Thursday.

Bulatci was convicted in November 2009 of first-degree murder in the 2007 shooting death of RCMP Const. Christopher Worden in Hay River.

He had also appealed the decision through the Court of Appeal for the NWT earlier this year, arguing that conversations with family members at the North Slave Correctional Centre, recorded by police, should never have been admitted during trial.

That appeal was dismissed in April. Bulatci is serving a sentence of 25 years without the possibility of parole.
