GNWT gets great rating

Moody Investors Service has given the GNWT a high investment grade credit rating of Aa1 which means the GNWT has a sound fiscal plan.

The credit analysis was published on Oct. 18, following Moody's annual review of GNWT's fiscal plans, outlook, and borrowing activity. The study found the territory is a good place to invest due to its low debt burden. The highest possible rating a province or territory can receive is Aaa, making the GNWT's rating just below this. The GNWT has maintained an Aa1 rating since 2008. The rating allows the government to make strategic infrastructure investments.
