The Chateau Nova Inn and Suites has a new general manager after former Yellowknife Hotel Association president Jenni Bruce accepted a new role at Northern Property Real Estate Investment Trust.

Bruce is taking over as regional manager at Northern Property after more than five years as general manager of the Franklin Avenue hotel.

Yk property manager Ibrahim Neviri, formerly of Capital Suites, took over the Chateau Nova general manager position last Monday.

"I think he's gonna be a great addition to the team there," Bruce said about Neviri.

"He's already shown a big interest in being active in the community."

Neviri has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 10 years.

Bruce has now stepped down as president of the hotel association, with Yellowknife Inn general manager Derek Carmody assuming the chair position.

Bruce is staying on as chair of NWT Tourism and will continue to be a spokesperson for the hotel association, she said.

Bruce called Northern Property "a great company" and said she is excited for the new role.

Northern Property is the largest residential landlord in the NWT, with properties in Yellowknife including Shaganappy Apartments, Bison Estates, and Crestview Manor.
