Crafty business First craft sale of November gives the community a taste of something sweetDanielle Sachs Northern News Services Published Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012
Watching one of the tables was Aurora College student Jeanelle Arey. During a brief break from serving some of the shoppers, she said it had been pretty busy. "The morning was solid," she said. "As soon as we opened it got really busy and there's been people in and out since then." There were tables from local artisans and tables set up as fundraisers for clubs and community associations around Inuvik. The Inuvik Figure Skating Club had a table set up. Volunteers were selling everything from tubs of pre-mixed cookie dough to reusable water bottles. Kiersten Rogers, 9, was helping her mom at one of the tables. Seated behind a display of hairclips and headbands, she pointed out some of the items she had helped to make. "My mom makes them but I attached the jewels," she said. Rogers was helping people pick out different colours and said they were selling quickly. "They're not that expensive and if you want something it's cheaper than mittens."
