Northern aviation company Discovery Air Inc. has acquired British Columbian helicopter company Northern Air Support.

Discovery Air subsidiary Great Slave Helicopters announced the acquisition of the safety-oriented charter business in a Feb. 21 news release.

"We are very excited about being a part of the Discovery Air team," stated Mark McGowan, president of Northern Air. "The opportunity to be part of a larger organization with a more diverse fleet mix, combined with their international operations, will be very beneficial."

Earlier this month, Great Slave Helicopters also announced the acquisition of the 10-helicopter operator Servicios Aereos Helicopters, in Chile.
