High grade iron discovered at Tuktu Thandie Vela Northern News Services Published Monday, November 7, 2011
Samples of 63.85 per cent and 62.26 per cent iron have been found at the deposit, located on the east coast of the Melville Peninsula, the company stated in an Oct. 26 news release. The results "further validate the potential for Tuktu to produce a direct-ship ore product," the company said. "We are very encouraged by this recent high-grade discovery at our Tuktu Project," Advanced Explorations president and CEO John Gingerich said. "The sample results clearly indicate a potential for direct ship ore from Tuktu and with the feasibility study for the Roche Bay Project's C Zone near completion, these impressive results for Tuktu add further production dimensions to the Roche Bay Project." The Toronto-based company's Roche Bay Iron Project is located about 60 km south of Tuktu.
