SANIKILUAQ
A 20-year-old Sanikiluaq woman was killed Aug. 23, and police suspect her common-law husband is responsible.

Archie Kattuk, 27, was charged with second-degree murder the following day.

"Kattuk is still in RCMP custody in Winnipeg undergoing treatment for a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His condition is stable," stated Staff Sergeant Mark Crowther.

RCMP V Division Major Crimes Unit attended the community to investigate, along with RCMP Winnipeg Forensic Identification Section.
