KANGIQLINIQ/RANKIN INLET
The body of a 12-year-old boy was found in an industrial area of Rankin Inlet on July 8 by search and rescue members.

The boy, who has not been named by police, had been missing for up to five days but he had only been reported missing the evening before his body was discovered. According to a July 9 news release from Iqaluit RCMP, police searched for the boy with the assistance of search and rescue members.

RCMP are treating the death as suspicious, and the ongoing investigation includes the chief coroner's office as well as K Division Serious Crimes Branch.
