Hamlet councillor Kyle Wolki was charged after police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the hamlet on June 30, stated RCMP in an news release.

Another man was also arrested at the time.

Officers later executed the search warrant at Wolki's home and allegedly seized marijuana, scales and other drug paraphernalia.

Wolki, 24, was released from custody and will appear in court in Sachs Harbour on Nov. 22.

The other person arrested was released without being charged.

News/North reached out to hamlet officials for comment and to verify Wolki's status on council in light of the charges. However, nobody responded as of press time.
