The 2015-2016 NWT trapper award winners have been announced.
The NWT Trapper Recognition Program "recognizes the hard work NWT trappers put into their craft and the well-earned contribution they bring to the economy," a Department of Environment and Natural Resources news release states.
Awards are given out to the top trapper in each region for four categories:

- Devon Beck (Fort Resolution) - South Slave Region
- Leon Willah (Behchoko) - North Slave Region
- Robert Kochon (Colville Lake) - Sahtu Region
- Troy Scott Ruttle (Fort Simpson) - Dehcho Region
- Moses Kasook (Inuvik) - Inuvik Region
Highest Harvest
- Jeff Sanderson (Fort Resolution) - South Slave Region
- Leon Willah (Behchoko) - North Slave Region
- Richard Popko (Norman Wells) - Sahtu Region
- Roger Pertrand (Fort Liard) - Dehcho Region
- Moses Kasook (Inuvik) - Inuvik Region
