RCMP stated in a news release Tuesday morning its officers are searching for Mark Lynn, 21, who was last seen on the evening of Aug. 24 on foot and may have been in the "lagoon" area of the community that evening.

He was reported missing Aug. 28.

"An initial search of the area and inquiries has provided no indication of where Mark may be, or which direction he may have gone," police stated.

The man is described as aboriginal, five-foot-nine-inches and 167 pounds with a medium build and brown hair and eyes.

He was wearing a black Toronto Raptors basketball team hat in a photo posted to social media Aug. 23, police stated. Police are asking the public to assist in the search and report any information they may have about his whereabouts if they've seen him on or since Aug. 24.

Lynn was scheduled to appear in court Aug. 30 on charges of assault and uttering death threats that allegedly occurred on April 20.

RCMP asked the public to call them at 669-1111 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477, online at nwtnutips.com or by texting NWTNUTIPS plus your message to 274637.
