RCMP stated in an e-mail the pedestrian was in the crosswalk when he was hit. It was very dark and raining at the time but police have not said if weather was a factor in the crash. The victim was rushed to Stanton Territorial Hospital where his condition is not known.

The driver has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian under the Motor vehicle Act. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor according to the Mounties.
