Police responded to a complaint of motor vehicle hitting a lone adult male pedestrian at 7:14 p.m.

A Yellowknifer editor saw the person lying face up in the middle of the road in front of the Raven Pub shortly after the incident. The man wasn't moving. The extent of his injuries are unknown as police have not released any information on the man's condition.

An RCMP news release issued Friday stated that the "injured" man was taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital by Emergency Medical Services.

An adult male driver has been arrested and is facing several criminal charges, according to the news release but he has not been identified.

Yellowknifer asked police yesterday if charges have been sworn in yet and was told RCMP cannot provide "any further information at this time."
