RCMP Const. Kevin Devoe said a mobile home on Ruyant Crescent sustained minor damage after a fire began burning just past noon on April 1.

Less than 24 hours later, at 6:50 a.m. April 2, Inuvik RCMP were called to a fire at a business on Mackenzie Road.

This fire was contained to a small portion of the exterior of the business and caused only limited damage.

While no one was injured in either of the incidents, both incidents are still under investigation and are considered suspicious.

Fire Marshal Rick Lindsay could only confirm his office is working with the RCMP and that the matters are still under investigation.

This comes on the heels of a fire that consumed the former offices of Millennium Construction Ltd. two weeks ago.

That incident was also deemed suspicious in nature, although the police and fire marshal have yet to release a cause.

Police would not say if all the incidents were related, but they are asking for the public's assistance in finding whomever is responsible for the recent spate of fires.

People are being asked to report any suspicious activity in the community to the police.
