Charlene Blake, who grew up with Lennie in Tsiigehtchic, helped organize a singalong at the Chief Paul Niditchie School gym on March 16. About 30 people attended, she said.

"They really were saying it was very nice and it was a really nice memorial in memory of Robyn," she said. "We had a prayer in the beginning for her family and for Robyn."

The sing-along ran from about 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

"Everybody got to come out and eat together and talk and then we had the singalong," Blake said.

Lennie was one of three occupants of a vehicle that rolled over about 10 km north of the Tsiigehtchic Ferry Crossing on the Dempster Highway. An RCMP news release stated the accident was reported at about 5:30 p.m.

The vehicle was driving south when the accident took place and was severely damaged, said Const. Kevin Devoe. The other two occupants received minor, non life threatening injuries. It is still unknown whether the passengers had been wearing seatbelts.

Lennie leaves behind three young children, according to a Gofundme online fundraising campaign established in her name. The campaign is asking for donations to help with childcare and other needs. As of press time on March 17, it had raised nearly $7,000 of its $10,000 goal.

Blake said another memorial was scheduled to take place in the home of a Tsiigehtchic resident the evening of March 17.

RCMP are still investigating and are asking anyone with information about the accident to contact Inuvk RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
