KITIKMEOT
Residents of the Kitikmeot region will now be able to fly between Cambridge Bay and Kugluktuk on flights three days per week in each direction. Before this, flights on this route only took place one day per week in each direction.

The move comes after Canadian North and First Air announced improvements to their codeshare flight schedules in the Kitikmeot region, which will begin to take effect during the week of Nov. 2. The airlines said this change will enhance passenger and cargo service between Kugluktuk and Cambridge Bay.

The westbound flight to Kugluktuk from Cambridge Bay will take place on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The eastbound flight to Cambridge Bay from Kugluktuk will take place on Tuesdays and Sundays. A Friday flight will also be added starting on Nov. 13.

"In response to the input of our customers and stakeholders, as well as the opportunities created by the codeshare agreement, we have been able to make significant schedule enhancements which will improve cargo and passenger service between Kugluktuk and Cambridge Bay," stated Peter McCart, Canadian North senior vice-president of scheduled services, in a news release Oct. 30.

"We welcome further dialogue with stakeholders and will continually seek opportunities to enhance our services to better meet the needs of our customers and the North."
