Northwind coach Ray Wainman said he credited the win to good batting, although he said he thought the defence was "off and on" for the game.
Ball Busterz coach John Stortz said his team had a strong start.
"Early on in the game we had great defence and offence, all around we had it together," he said.
But a bad turn in the fourth inning signalled a change of fortune.
"It just fell apart about half way through," said Stortz,
"One bad inning and we let a few too many in and tried to climb back."
He said that despite having a bad day at bat, the team is a close-knit group.
"We get along really well together, lots of team support. That's our strength for sure." said Stortz.
The game ended with a 18-9 win for Northwind.
The league standings as of July 24 have team Just Call Vince in the lead with 27 points, Americo Huskies in second with 26 points, Wranglers in third with 22 points, Aklak Air Falcons in fourth with 15 points, Barry's Welding Allstars and Native Yankees tied for fifth with 12 points each, Northwind with eight points and Ball Busterz with two.
The Inuvik Slo-pitch Association states that the Midnight Sun Tournament, starting July 31, will have a two-pool round robin format. As of press time, they were deciding whether there will be a double- or single-elimination system.
The teams that are confirmed for the tournament are Barry Pickers, Rockin' Robins, Aklak Air Falcons, Bob's Welding Allstars, Just Call Vince, Wranglers, Native Yankees and Americo Huskies.
