Marijuana seized after officers execute search warrant at Cambridge Bay residence

Cambridge Bay RCMP made a big pot bust on June 4.

As part of an ongoing investigation, the RCMP executed a search warrant at a local residence and seized approximately 7.5 kilograms of marijuana and additional drug paraphernalia.

A 31-year-old Cambridge Bay resident has been charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and is scheduled to appear in court in Cambridge Bay on Aug. 11.

"This significant seizure will have a positive impact on the health and the well-being of the residents of Cambridge Bay," stated the RCMP's news release.

The RCMP thanked the community for support and assistance when dealing with investigations and encouraged people to report criminal activity to their local detachment or Crime Stoppers.
