Another possible child luring
RCMP investigating after report of second abduction attempt within two days

The RCMP is investigating a report of a second child abduction attempt, only a day after receiving a call about another incident last week.
As reported in Wednesday's Yellowknifer, police responded to a report of a possible child luring last Friday where an adult male in a vehicle offered candy to a young boy. It happened at the intersection of Taylor Road and Phinney Court, police stated.
The boy returned home unharmed. The boy's mother reported the man as aboriginal with a pony tail and driving a red SUV or van.
In a Facebook posting the mother stated it was an attempt to lure the boy into the vehicle. Police have not confirmed whether they think that was the case.
Police issued a news release yesterday afternoon reporting another incident from last Saturday.
RCMP stated officers are investigating after two children playing at the Mildred Hall School playground told their parents that someone had taken their photo and then asked them to come with him.
The children returned home and were unharmed, police stated.
The man is described as Caucasian, about 60 years old wearing a black jacket, track pants and sneakers. Police have not said what time of day the children were approached.
In the same news release, the Mounties stated they are investigating another incident - this one from Tuesday - involving a "suspicious" vehicle. A silver SUV was reportedly parked at the corner of Finlayson Drive and Kam Lake Road both in the morning and in the evening, and it appeared the driver was taking photos of the area, police stated. No children were involved.
The driver is described as Asian in appearance, wearing a yellow or orange shirt or jacket and sunglasses.
Yellowknifer asked RCMP why they think the vehicle and this occurrence were suspicious. They did not respond as of press time.
Police did state they do not believe these events are related.
RCMP is advising of these reported suspicious vehicles and activity to raise awareness within the public on protecting one's personal safety, police stated. Parents are asked to remind their children about "stranger danger."
