Hay River RCMP received a call that a plane was experiencing mechanical trouble just after 1 p.m and they were immediately dispatched to the scene, according to a news release.

No one was injured as a result and the matter is currently under investigation.

"The pilot was able to get the plane back operational and RCMP and DOT ensured that the highway was clear and safe for the pilot to take off and continue its flight to Yellowknife," states an RCMP media release about the incident.
