Another warrant, another drug bust

Yellowknife RCMP arrested two people last Wednesday, after a search warrant yielded "a quantity" of marijuana, oxycodone, cash and drug paraphernalia from a residence on 49A Avenue.

It's the second drug bust in five days. RCMP are releasing few details about the seizures.

The suspects, a 33-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, are both from Yellowknife, RCMP say. Neither have been formally charged. Both were released, promising to appear in court July 15.

No medal for Kevin Koe

Kevin Koe's bid to win a second World Men's Curling Championship came crashing down in Beijing, China, over the weekend.

The former Yellowknife skip faced off with Sweden in the semifinal and fell by a score of 10-8, relegating him to the bronze medal game with Switzerland on Sunday morning. That game didn't go well, either, as Koe dropped a 7-5 decision, meaning he finished out of the medals and in fourth place overall.
