CHESTERFIELD INLET
The 12th annual Valentine's Day pancake breakfast was another hit with residents of Chesterfield Inlet earlier this month.

The event is organized and hosted by staff members at Victor Sammurtok School.
Teacher Glen Brocklebank said the local Co-op store helped out, big time, with bacon and pancake mix for the breakfast, while the Northern store also lent a helping hand.
He said the teachers cooked more than 30 pounds of bacon and 20 pounds of sausages for this year's breakfast.
"There was lots of everything to go around, and there was a line of people waiting to be served from about 8:15 to 9:30 a.m.," said Brocklebank.
"I'd say, at least, half the town was at our breakfast.
"The teachers flipping the pancakes start to get creative and make heart-shaped pancakes as the line starts to dwindle, and the kids start coming in for seconds and thirds.
"Some of the kids came back for fifths and sixths this year."
Brocklebank said the breakfast is a nice way to get the community into the school, and there's always lots of smiling faces at the event.
He said there were various Valentine's Day decorations on the wall, and a number of Grade 5 and Grade 6 students made posters to hang, as well.
"We had about 20 or 25 tables set up in the hallway, and I didn't see any of them empty during the breakfast.
"We usually schedule a big afternoon activity at the arena on the day of the annual breakfast, but we weren't able to this year because we had just held our local science fair the day before.
"The teachers did, however, hold their own special activities during our afternoon classes.
"I really enjoy the pancake breakfast - which still seems to be well-received by the community.
"It's a lot of fun to see such a good mix of people from our community come into the school, enjoy themselves, and have some great food at the same time."
