Northquest Ltd. announced the start of its 2013 exploration program at the 677.6 square kilometre Pistol Bay Gold Project in a July 10 news release.

The project is located 80 km south of Agnico Eagle Mines' Meliadine gold project.

Northquest recently completed construction of a winterized camp facility which will allow for drilling all through the year.

The 2,000 metres of drilling planned for this year is expected to begin in mid-July, with results available in August.

"With exploration expenditures of only $4.9 million to date, Northquest has obtained economically-interesting drilling intersections at three targets in a 20-kilometre long segment of the 90-kilometre-long Pistol Bay Trend," stated Northquest president and chief executive officer Jon North.

Northquest acquired initial claims to the project in December 2010.
