SAO candidates narrowed down

Members of the city's hiring committee working to fill the vacant roll of senior administrative officer narrowed the candidate list to five after last Friday's application deadline. According to city councillor Linda Bussey, there were more than 30 applicants, which meant the city received more than the 27 applicants in 2010 when Bob Long was hired.

After the candidates are interviewed individually, each one is expected to make a presentation before council. It is expected these presentations will take place in-camera sometime in the near future, before council makes a final decision. The committee aims to hire someone by the end of March.
