NUNAVUT
The Nunavut fur industry is set to receive more than $190,000 over two years from the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor).

The funds are intended to assist with advertising campaigns, presence at industry events and delivery of pelt-handling workshops in Nunavut communities.

Nunavut's Department of Environment is tasked with project implementation.

CanNor announced another investment of $105,000 for the Arviat community ecotourism initiative. The funds will support such activities as training local students to act as guides and local hosts, national and international promotion of the hamlet, and the purchase of a wildlife viewing cabin. The cabin is intended as a day-trip destination for tourists.
