There's no fear of the dark or flying for Bruce Dickinson, lead singer of Iron Maiden and airline pilot.

Rumours that the famed frontman may visit North of 60 and spend time with the crew at Buffalo Airways as part of a future season of Ice Pilots NWT is heating up the Internet, but Mikey McBryan, general manager at Buffalo Airways, could not confirm or deny the rock god's upcoming visit.

"One thing I've learned about television is nothing is guaranteed," he said.

"It could be anyone, it could be Travis Tritt."

But Tritt, a Grammy winning country singer from Georgia, does not have the same aviation background as Dickinson.

Dickinson started flying in the early 1990s. Since then, he has worked as a commercial airline pilot and offers tour packages to Iron Maiden fans that include a flight to the show—with Dickinson as the pilot—and a backstage tour. He has recently started Cardiff Aviation Limited, an aircraft maintenance company in Wales.

While McBryan couldn't say one way or another if they would be hosting the singer, Erin Mussolum, development manager and director of marketing and communications at Omni Film Productions Ltd., said if anything, Dickinson's visit would be filmed for season five of the show.

She did agree that nothing was guaranteed.

"There's a lot of water between then and now," she said.

The production company is in charge of a number of shows, among them Ice Pilots NWT and Arctic Air. It is currently finishing season four of Ice Pilots, which premiers in October on the History Television network.

When asked if Dickinson was visiting Yellowknife, Iain Macauley, owner of PressRelations.co.uk, which handles press for the long-running heavy metal act, stated in an e-mail, "We're currently trying to organize a little diversion, certainly not a week, but nothing pinned down yet."

Later, he e-mailed back to state, "Nothing organized or confirmed as yet. We get invitations like this all the time."

Iron Maiden is playing eight Canadian tour dates this summer, including July 27 in Edmonton.
