IQALUIT
Two people were treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Iqaluit late Thursday night.

The fire at 2213D was contained to one unit of the fourplex, and RCMP safely evacuated the residents before fire crews arrived.

"Unlike White Row, this is what I typically would expect - a room and content fire primarily contained within the room of origin, though it breached walls and was moving throughout the unit," Lieut. Chris Wilson stated in a news release from the City of Iqaluit.

He stated the fire was controlled quickly. Crews remained on scene for about three hours after receiving the call at midnight. No additional injuries were reported, and early reports stated the cause was likely accidental.
