The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has confirmed receipt of a recent appeal from NorthwesTel Inc.

The submission details an agreement reached between NorthwesTel and competing Internet service provider SSI Micro Ltd. over a new wholesale Internet transport service called Wholesale Connect, which provides connectivity to the south.

The possible solution is now subject to the approval of the CRTC.

The commission does not yet have a publication date for its decision regarding the appeal, or a previous appeal submitted by the company over a January CRTC ruling calling for publication of rates charged for the transport service.
