Results from a mini-pilot plant test conducted on ore from Fortune Minerals Ltd's gold-cobalt-bismuch-copper project show increased recoveries for gold and cobalt.

Among the highlights from the 2011 test results, cobalt recovery increased from 83 per cent to 84 per cent, the company reported in a Jan. 12 news release.

The test also verified that bismuth process residue can be blended with cobalt concentrate prior to acid pressure, Fortune reported, which will ultimately reduce project capital.

The test was conducted by SGS Lakefield Research Ltd. in Ontario. The NICO project is located 50 km north of Whati.
