NUNAVUT
Canadian North Inc. is now offering full telephone and online service for Inuktitut-speaking customers, including a full Inuktitut language website.

The site is a replica of the English website, the airline said, offering the ability to book travel, change reservations, and find information on Aurora Concierge status, Aeroplan Mile benefits, and country food shipping in Inuktitut.

"Much of our business comes from communities where Inuktitut is the language predominately spoken," vice president of scheduled service Lorraine Bonner stated in an Oct. 27 news release, which estimated more than 35,000 people reported speaking the language in the most recent census.

"We are happy to offer these new services to our customers in these communities."

Inuktitut is an official language in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.
