Ten communities will host the commander of Joint Task Force North from Oct. 17 to 21 as he conducts an outreach tour, the Department of National Defence announced on Oct. 12.

Brigadier-general Guy Hamel is set to visit Kugluktuk, Cambridge Bay, Resolute, Qikiqtarjuaq, Iqaluit, Pond Inlet, Taloyoak, Iglulik, Hall Beach and Baker Lake to meet with units and members under his command, including the Canadian Ranger and Junior Canadian Ranger patrols.

Hamel will also meet with mayors, elders and community leaders as well as participate in local activities, stated in a press release Capt. Trevor Henderson of Joint Task Force North.

The commander conducts outreach tours two to three times a year, visiting different communities each time, he added.
