NORTHWEST TERRITORIES
Industry, Tourism and Investment Minister Bob McLeod accepted chairmanship of the national Committee on Internal Trade at the group's annual meeting in Charlottetown last week.

McLeod put forward an endorsement in the Agreement on Internal Trade - an agreement based on the free movement of persons, goods, services and investments across the country - to ensure that foreign interests outlined in international trade agreements do not receive more favourable treatment than domestic, a news release said.

The committee's 2012 annual meeting is scheduled to be held in the Northwest Territories.
