K'ATLODEECHE/HAY RIVER RESERVE - The Rotary Club of Hay River has held its 10th annual Books for Kids initiative.

The project, which began in 2002, provides a new book to all students from preschool to Grade 7 to take home and read over the summer.

On June 7, club members delivered books to Chief Sunrise Education Centre on the Hay River Reserve. They also brought books to three schools in Hay River and the Hay River Playschool.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the project, the Rotary Club has added two more schools to the recipient list – Deninu School in Fort Resolution and Kakisa Lake School in Kakisa.

Over the years, the Rotarians have distributed 600-700 books each year for a total of almost 6,500.
