Diamonds North discovers gold

NUNAVUT
Diamonds North Resources has been granted exploration permits for an area in Nunavut where samples showing up to 43.9 grams per tonne of gold were found.

Known as the Fox property, the area consists of four permits encompassing an area in southern Nunavut that includes iron formation, according to the company. Diamonds North states that there may be a connection between the Fox property and the mineralization at the Meliadine gold project, which contains an estimated five million-plus ounces of gold.

"The project covers 45 km of under-explored gold prospective geology with proven high-grade assays," said Mark Kolebaba, president and CEO of Diamonds North. "A new low-cost exploration approach could lead to significant new discoveries."
