KUGLUKTUK - With the new year upon it, Kugluktuk is looking to develop a proper visitor's centre and heritage museum, which is currently housed at Kugluktuk High School.

The centre would serve as a way to "showcase the hamlet, the local culture and provide a place for visitors to get a sense of that and also for local people to go in and recapture the heritage and culture that may have been lost, said Stephen Novak, economic development officer for the hamlet

It would also give tourists something to do, he added.

"We are starting to get cruise ships in here."
