NORTHWEST TERRITORIES
Workers at the Snap Lake Diamond mine moved into plush, new accommodations recently designed to improve living conditions.

"The new complex includes a new training centre, new cultural centre, new fitness facility, new recreational rooms for darts, pool, table tennis and a beautiful new kitchen and dining room," said Cathie Bolstad, spokesperson for De Beers Canada, of the 400-room complex.

"One of the key features of the new rooms is a shared bathroom between every two rooms, whereas the old camp had washrooms and showers in each wing that were a shared facility.

Each room is equipped with computer connections so that employees can have Internet access from their rooms."
