TUKTOYAKTUK - Representatives from Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. are scheduled to visit Tuktoyaktuk this week to talk about business and employment opportunities at the mine, said Connie Gordon, Tuktoyaktuk's economic development officer.

On Thursday, visitors from the mine will hold an open discussion with community residents from 2 to 4 p.m.

Then, from 7 to 9 p.m., the mine will conduct a presentation outlining how residents and businesses can benefit from operations at the mine, which will become a fully underground operation in 2012. The presentation will include tips on writing resumes, according to Gordon. According to Diavik's 2010 mid-year socio-economic monitoring report, the mine had no workers currently living in Tuktoyaktuk.
