Gym for hotel guests

IQALUIT - Frobisher Inn guests will soon be able to work out as the hotel is transforming an empty store space into a gym.

General manager Paul Sherman said the gym will offer bikes, elliptical machines and number of free weights that hotel guests will be able to use when it opens at the end of the month.

"We've had so many guest requests and demand for a gym so we thought we would put a gym in there," he said.

He added the hotel might eventually sell memberships to the public, but no decision has yet been made.

Also, Sherman said the Caribrew Cafe will offer a more varied food selection, such as take-out salads, whole chickens and daily dinner specials once the renovations are completed in November.

"It will be a lot more like deli sorts of things. There will be a lot more counter space," he said, adding the changes have been made to meet customer demands.
