IKALUKTUTIAK/CAMBRIDGE BAY - A recently-released Cambridge Bay sex offender is back behind bars after being accused of threatening a group of people and assaulting one person, said police.

This past spring, Desmond Kaosoni finished serving a five-year sentence for four violent sexual assaults in Cambridge Bay dating back to 2004.

But Kaosoni was arrested in Cambridge Bay on Sept. 24 for allegedly threatening a group of people and assaulting one person, RCMP Sgt. Jimmy Akavak stated via e-mail.

He added Kaosoni is being held in custody in Yellowknife, facing two counts of failing to comply with a peace bond, one count of assault and four counts of uttering threats.
