NUNAVUT - RCMP say they are investigating the suspicious death of Kelly Lucassie, 43, of Iqaluit.

Iqaluit RCMP and city emergency services found Lucassie injured at about 11:35 p.m. Friday night after they were called to a residence in the city's 300 block. Lucassie was transported to the Qikiqtani Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In Cape Dorset, a man is facing charges after marihuana and liquor were seized in the community by police.

RCMP said they arrested a male Friday at about 3:30 p.m. after receiving a tip a passenger was returning to Cape Dorset with illegal liquor.

The man was taken into custody without incident as he was coming off the aircraft.

Seven 40-ounce bottles of vodka, one 60-ounce bottle of vodka and two pounds of marihuana were seized at the scene. Police said the liquor's street value in Cape Dorset is $2,600 and the marijuana's $54,000. The 26-year-old-man was charged and released.

He is scheduled to appear in court May 11.
