North Pole bound
Yellowknife kids write to ol' Saint Nick

Northern News Services
Published Wednesday, December 23, 2009

SOMBA K'E/YELLOWKNIFE - Dino Stompers? Moxi Girls? Cave Cruisers? Santa's editor elf doesn't know what any of these things are but he has a strong suspicious Santa does, and will deliver.

Yellowknifer has received a bundle of letters from boys and girls this year for Santa to peruse, and they should be well-advised that the newspaper's closer proximity to the North Pole, compared to some of those more southerly media outlets, certainly put them at an advantage when it comes to orders going into Santa's toy shop. Merry Christmas kids!

Your letters were mailed out to the North Pole with the Friday edition of Yellowknifer last week.

From: Hunter Froude

Dear Santa,

My name is Hunter. I am only one year old so my mommy is helping me with this letter.

For Christmas this year I would like a Tigger Bouncing toy, a Little Tykes Sport Centre and a fire truck. I'm sure I will like what ever you bring.

Please be good to my big sister Hailey. She is a really good big sister.

We will leave cookies out for you and carrots for your reindeer on Christmas Eve.

Love, your little friend Hunter Froude

From: Hailey Froude

Dear Santa,

My name is Hailey and I am five years old. I have tried to be a good girl all year.

For Christmas this year, I would like a Barbie Camper, a pink guitar, and a Strawberry Shortcake house. If you have room for a new movie that would be nice, too.

Please be good to all of the little boys and girls that are sick this Christmas and please don't forget to visit my cousins Makenna and Matthew.

My brother and I will leave a snack out for you on Christmas Eve. Have a safe trip.

Love, your friend Hailey Froude
