INUVIK - A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a 45-year-old Inuvik resident was found dead in an Inuvik hotel by staff at around noon Dec. 18.

Police arrested 37-year-old Claude Jerome Harry on Dec. 19. He was scheduled to appear in court in Yellowknife Dec. 22.

Police were not releasing the name of the victim pending confirmation of his identity and notification of his family.

An autopsy is expected to be completed later this week.

The Inuvik RCMP detachment, the G Division Major Crime Unit and the Yellowknife General Investigation section are still investigating.
