SOMBA K'E/YELLOWKNIFE - Prime Minister Stephen Harper will visit the three Northern territories Aug. 17-21, according to a report published in the National Post on Friday.

While in the North, Harper is expected to make announcements pertaining to the Northern Economic Development Agency and an Arctic research centre, the report states.

He is also expected to hold a cabinet meeting in Iqaluit and reveal "spending and policy initiatives" in Pangnirtung, Yellowknife and Whitehorse, according to the National Post.

In an interview with News/North in late July, Minister Leona Aglukkaq said a decision had not yet been made on the location of the Northern Economic Development Agency.
